Terms of Service
Last updated: August 16, 2026 (v2026-08-16)
The short version
Use DataPeeps responsibly. Don't upload content you don't have rights to. Don't harm others. We provide the service as-is and aren't liable for issues beyond our control.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Data Peeps services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Description of Service
Data Peeps provides a platform for creating and managing knowledge bases, generating document embeddings, and performing semantic search through an API. We also operate a marketplace where users can buy and sell access to knowledge bases.
3. User Accounts
To use our services, you must create an account. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use our services to:
- Upload or distribute illegal, harmful, or offensive content
- Violate intellectual property rights
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt our services
- Resell or redistribute our services without authorization
5. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of all content you upload to Data Peeps. By uploading content, you grant us a license to process, store, and serve that content as necessary to provide our services. We do not claim ownership of your documents or data.
6. Content Attribution & Citation
When you import content from third-party sources (including URLs, articles, and external publications) into your knowledge base, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Third-party content is incorporated as reference material only and does not constitute a claim of ownership over such content.
- All outputs generated by your knowledge base that draw upon third-party content will automatically include source citations attributing the original source. This citation behavior cannot be disabled for knowledge bases containing third-party content.
- You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of third-party content complies with applicable copyright laws, licensing terms, and the intellectual property rights of the original content owners.
- Data Peeps does not assume liability for any intellectual property claims arising from your importation or use of third-party content.
- By importing third-party content, you represent that you have a lawful basis for using such material, whether through fair use, license, or other legal authorization.
7. Plans, Free Trials, Automatic Renewal & Cancellation
The plain-language version of this section is at datapeeps.com/billing-terms. If the two ever differ, this section controls.
- Paid plans. DataPeeps workspaces (Starter, Professional, Team) are paid subscriptions billed monthly in advance, in U.S. dollars, to the payment card you provide. Team is billed per seat with a three-seat minimum; adding or removing teammates changes the amount of your next charge, and the new amount is shown in Billing before it is charged. Enterprise plans are governed by a separate agreement.
- Free trial and card requirement. New workspaces start with a 7-day free trial. A valid payment card is required to start the trial. You are not charged during the trial. Each person is entitled to one free trial; a later subscription is charged immediately.
- Automatic conversion and renewal. Unless you cancel before your trial ends, your subscription begins automatically at the end of the trial and your card is charged the monthly price of the plan you selected, on the first-charge date shown at checkout and in your confirmation email. Your subscription then renews automatically every month, and your card is charged the then-current price, until you cancel. The exact amount and first-charge date are displayed next to the consent checkbox before you enter your card, and are restated in the confirmation email we send you.
- Reminders. We email a reminder before your first charge, and a receipt after every charge.
- How to cancel. You can cancel at any time, online, in one click: Dashboard → Billing → Cancel (or the “Cancel subscription” link in any billing email). No phone call, chat or email is required. Cancelling during the trial means you are never charged; you keep access until the trial ends. Cancelling after the trial stops future charges; you keep access until the end of the month you already paid for. Deleting your account also cancels your subscription.
- After cancellation or non-payment. Your workspace becomes read-only: you can sign in, view and export your data and manage billing, but new uploads, queries, memory saves, share links and your public profile are paused. We keep your data for 30 days so you can export it or reactivate; after that it is permanently deleted. If a charge fails, we retry your card for a limited period and notify you; if payment cannot be collected, your subscription is cancelled and the same read-only period applies.
- Refunds. Fees for a billing period already started are non-refundable except where required by law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support@datapeeps.com within 30 days and we will make it right.
- Price changes. We may change plan prices with at least 30 days’ notice by email. A price change takes effect at your next renewal after the notice period; you may cancel before then to avoid it.
- Marketplace and paid consultations. Marketplace transactions and paid consultations are separate one-time purchases subject to the fees disclosed at the point of purchase (currently a 30% marketplace fee to the seller).
8. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance or updates that temporarily affect availability. We will provide reasonable notice when possible.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Data Peeps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may cancel your subscription (Section 7) or delete your account at any time from your dashboard; deleting your account cancels any subscription immediately. Upon termination, your right to use our services will cease, subject to the 30-day data-export period described in Section 7.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through our services. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
